I'm thinking of using this empty tank for a Betta. Right now there is nothing on it but I'm wondering if it is suitable for a male betta!

Little too small. The usual recommendation is 10 gallon.

Itd be alright just look for one that hasnt got stupidly large fins, still longfinned but not major if you know what i mean. 5 gallons is alright for long fins because theyre less active, but its height they struggle with so tall tanks and cubes can be problematic for them

Does it have a filter? couldn’t tell from the picture. I do see a thermostat which is great. If it has a filter and proper oxygenation and temperature control then yes; a Betta would be really happy there! No tankmates though; I’ve learned the hard way that 5 gallons is too small of a space for a Betta + other fish

That would be decent for a long fin. However longer tanks are significantly better because of the higher surface area. A 5 gal tall isn’t suitable like a 5 gal long would be.
