





My wife and I have been excited to catch more species of fish while living in KY this year (I travel for work, originally from Utah), and while the Green Sunfish are beautiful, I don't know if a prettier fish exists in the freshwater streams of the United States.
We weren't sure if we were ever going to catch any, but after visiting a small, under-pressured stream a couple of Sundays ago, we couldn't stop these guys from hammering our rooster tails.
One of my favorite days I've ever fished.

I agree, these guys and pumpkin seed. They’re prettier than most popular aquarium fish
Agreed, the longear is a gorgeous fish. Once while electrofishing some of the tributaries of the MO river, we shocked a ledge that ended up having about 200 of these things hidden underneath. The colors were glorious!
