This is our (wife and me) Betta, Dan Campbell. He has always had the stringy fins since the day she got him, which is thought was pretty odd. He is a very good boi. He has killed 2 snails…….. so I think we're gonna keep him solo for the foreseeable future 😅 He is camera shy. He's about 1.5 years old now.
Are there some breeds of Betta that naturally have long stringy fins? He's not sick, water quality is great, he makes bubble nest, says hello, and exhibits regular and normal betta behaviors. I've read that fins that look like this can mean illness? But hes always been like this and never refuses food. Am I tripping or something?

yes he is likely a crowntail! if water parameters are stable and there’s nothing sharp in the tank that could cut his fins, he’s just your average crowntail!
in other words, a beautiful baby!
he’s a beautiful crown tail!!
Thank you both for that. My wife and I are new to the betta game and just want to make sure that he has a great long life and we do whatever we can to keep him happy and healthy!
