my last post about spooling my spinning rod everyone said do not use the Berkeley vanish as main line. decided to go with some 10lb braid for the first time with 14lb mono backing, and I’m wondering what line I should use as a leader to the braid. apparently Berkeley vanish sucks but 14lb mono seems a little bit heavy so any advice will be appreciated.

Berkely vanish sucks. Its brittle and brakes easy. Get some plain old seagar red lable
I use Seaguars floro. The gold is SUPER supple but pricey. I’ve never had an issue with any of their floro products.
10lb braid main line I would use 8lb mono leaders. Unless you’re fishing for really pressured trout and then 4-6lb flouro. For other fish that aren’t line shy like bass, crappie, etc… flouro is expensive, stiffer, and breaks easier.
