Been fly fishing for a few years. Been a lifelong fisherman, so I'm not super green but fly fishing is different. Went out yesterday, brought my new 3wt because I really wanted to fish some dries. It's a bit early where I am and the weather was cold (snow in the morning). So I fished without luck for hours. Ended up catching my best brown ever, on a purple euro nymph (standard rod). Just dead drift in a nice run. What is a fish doing eating this thing I have no idea but it was incredible. Fly was recommended by the local shop, bought it a year ago and never actually thought I would use it. I had nothing to lose and apparently a 24" monster to gain.

    Beauty!

To most people I’ve seen post here this would be 32 inches and 11lbs.

    Awesome fish.
