The line always gets tangled around the hooks. Does it have to do with my casting? I’m using a baitcaster.

need more tension when reeling. Are you jerking it or maybe reeling real hard and then stopping? that can cause this. If its happening on the cast, is it windy? the lure may be too light for your rod.

Braided line , big disadvantage on baits using treble hooks , worse on stick baits and things with lots of movement , lake Zara Spooks

Imo it’s just lazy / cheap design that allows this. Hooks slightly smaller or further apart so it’s not even possible for this to happen.

To give you something to do since aren’t catching anything

I have no idea why but this genuinely only happens to me with cheap lures. Prolly shitty design like the other dude said.

Honestly I like to take the trebles off and replace with single hooks. Less tangles. Easier to get one out of the fish (or ur finger).

Lures like this are designed to have a lot of movement and should be fished with mono/floro or braid to floro leader.

Braid is a poor choice because ir is extremely limp and will literally hang in the water immediately in the path of the action of the bait.

Try adding 18″ of 10-12lb mono or floro as a leader and the problem should go away.

Braid is a problem for this. Gets all caught in the fibers of the braid.

With that said. If you hold the rod tip at 45 degrees and tap the butt end of the rod a vouple times, most of the time this will undo itself.

Take the hooks off and replace them with smaller ones, that’s what I did to all my cheap lures and I’ve been catching with them since
