I think its when they eat a lot of crawfish or maybe something else that might color meat, whatever in in abunance locally! Nice catch!
Stocked trout diet vs a trout that has been there a couple years or was a natural born fish.
orange – astaxanthin- found in shrimp crayfish and scuds
Holdovers or native vs stocker usually a with a diet of scudds and such.
