Wondering how often do the folks in this subreddit have aquarium/fish related nightmares, and what details stick out in yours? I have been in the hobby for about 5 years and I get them pretty regularly!! In my dreams I usually suddenly remember all at once that I have an overstocked aquarium that I haven’t been maintaining, or that I’ve accidentally put a bunch of big aggressive fish in with my favourite fish (Gilbert)!

lol. For me it is rare, only when I’m stressed. But my nightmare is typically I look at my tank and a big fucking pleco is in it. Like cat size pleco. Just fucking swishing its tail. Those fish give me luxury Heebies and discount Jeebies….i just hate them lol. My other nightmares will be I look at my tank and it’s just a cloud of bright water, or that my favorite fish has been cloned? That one is weird to me
Oh constantly. Like multiple a week. I grew up w animal neglect so lots of dreams about my tanks being left outside in a barn in the cold, overstocked, multiple bettas together or nearly fully evaporated 😬
I have a mom who’s always like “it’ll be fine”. Sick, hurt, food questionable? “It’ll be fine”. I had a vivid nightmare of my mom finding some axolotl looking demon fish and putting it in my aquarium as I sobbed for her not to. She said it’ll be fine, it’s a fish. I proceeded to watch said demon fish devour everything in my tank.
i had a nightmare that i acctualy used my decorative fish bowl to house a real fish and it got out and tried to eat me. i do have a fair amount of fish neglect related nightmares where the fish will get mad at me for the neglect and try to kill me in some way then i wake up
