I just got a ascend 9r kayak for 80 bucks but it has a small hole about an 8th inch that leaks real slow.
How do I patch the hole? Epoxy?
What's a cheap guard i can put over it to stop it from grinding past the epoxy?
My first kayak ive owned and only used a kayak once before.
Im pushing the weight limit but I should be fine. Im 215

Plastic weld the hole and put some Keel tape on it
Grab a green frisbee of the same color. They’re usually made of HDPE and thick. Look for the ♻️with a 2 in it. Heat it up with a heat gun and heat the kayak with a heat gun til both are nice and sticky. Press them together using a glove so you don’t burn yourself. Melt the edges of the weld with the heat gun again, blend it with a glove. Sand it to shape.
