Had both of my Seviin gf baitcasters fail within a few weeks of each other and decided to upgrade. Picked up a Tatlua X locally and a Zillion from digitaka… Holy moly the Zillion is truly on another planet. More accurate, longer casts, zero backlashes. I couldn't be more impressed or surprised by how big of a difference it made to my enjoyment and consistency.

I can safely say from experience now that a high end reel is more worthwhile than a high dollar rod. Honestly didn't expect that!

Anyone have same experience after buying a more high end reel?

Love my zillion, so smooth and can cast so many weights from tiny cranks to heavy jigs. Curious how you like the tatula x?

  2. Zillions are great reels. I had a Type R that I loved, but some asshole stole it and a G Loomis from my garage earlier this year. Just picked up a Steez to replace it but haven’t used it yet.

  3. It’s a super nice reel. However, now days I try to keep it right at 300usd or less. In my 40 years of experience I’ve come to appreciate the diminishing returns past that point. The most expensive reels in my current collection are tatula sv tw.

I will have to give Daiwa another try. I bought a tatula sv a few weeks ago and not long after it totally failed on me, and I lost a Jack Hammer lure in the process because of it. I think it was either because I was given a display model, or it came with too little grease from the factory.

I exhanged it for a Curado DC since I am familiar with Shimano, but I am definitely gonna add a JDM Zillion to my lineup later this year. Ive heard nothing but good things about it.

Just paired one of these with a Destroyer xbites. Love the reel. First experience with the twing, pretty wild not to have to tune the spool tensioner too
