Betta Fish: Is my tank suitable for a betta?

Just finished my scape and the tank is still cycling; 5g/20L that has previously housed a betta (with a different scape). Been thinking about getting a betta again, but I'm scared he would get stuck between the branches since I read that they are prone to getting stuck in things. Do you think it would be safe for a betta? If not I'll get some colorful shrimp instead 🙂
