Last year towards the end of summer i picked up a good deal on a couple of sun dolphin journey 10 kayaks for my partner and myself. I managed to get out on the water once (a lake up in CO – Horsetooth) before winter came in. recently got a fishing license so wanna get out on it with a rod.
1 thing i found was that i had to put a bit of effort into keeping it stable. It's been years since ive been kayaking and dont have anything to compare to, is this kayak similar to most fishing kayaks and balance is something that will improve with more time on the water? Or are there more stable / better options for fishing kayaks? I can already see myself having a swim / loosing gear trying to net a 6" sunfish.

You’ll get a lot better and more confident with time. I used to have a pair of these as well, and I could even stand up alright.
That said, these are pretty much the cheapest ‘real’ kayaks money can buy. More expensive ones will be exponentially more stable.
