Hello fishie people!
I need your help giving this guy the best possible chance at life!!
I have a 5 gallon tank that has been on and cycling for over 2 years.
It has some plants, some drift wood as well as a cave rock thing.
I went to a fish shop yesterday to get the water tested and to get a fish to put in my tank and I saw this beautiful Beta
He had so little water in his bag and the water was full of white floaties which I’m assuming was his poop??
My heart broke for him so I brought him home.
He seams supper chilled in the tank, at first he was just sitting at the bottom but now he swims around and he’s actually so beautiful when he spreads out his fins, he’s stollen my heart.
I’ve given him the name Pearl.
Please spam me with suggestions for him.
I have that old school colorful aquarium sand, I’m thinking I need to change it so a soft soil since he seams to really like sitting on the bottom.
I’d also like some ideas of things for him to rest on, I’ve seen so many ideas on Socials but apparently some of them are not safe??
Any other suggestions or ideas would be so appreciated.
He is my first ever Beta and I really want to give him a good life.
Thank you!!

Some people use a betta leaf for them to rest on, or get plants like Anubias which can have big leaves. Congrats on your new betta as well! He’s gorgeous.
