I want to go catch catfish with my dad this Friday and I want to know if my setups can with stand catfish or should I js buy another cheap combo
All 3 spooled with 15 pound mono
And made some pre drop shot rigs with 50 pound braid

Yes. Ive caught plenty of channel, flathead, and blue cats off spinning reels. Wouldnt use a baitcaster though.
You bet. I’ve caught cats on just about any combo imaginable. Even a Batman pole.
The OT wayfarer can probably handle smaller catfish, but I would personally use your Shimano setup instead. I have never catfished with a Baitcaster so I can’t speak for that.
I’ve caught tons of catfish on bait casters using a slip bobber rig. It’s a great way to give an old bait caster a second life.
