I've had the idea for a while of getting a medium travel rod and a decent reel I can take anywhere I travel.
I got my entry-level rod to learn bass fishing, and I've enjoying it thoroughly.
BUT… I just crushed the tip with my car door. This is the one I have, broken tip: https://rogerssportinggoods.com/daiwa-dshock-ii-spinning-rodandreel-combo/
I still have the entry reel, of course, but I was thinking of upgrading both the reel and rod to something a little nicer.
So far, I'm partial to either getting this rod: https://www.falconrods.com/collections/falcon-rods/products/traveler-series?variant=51122280300843
Or this combo:
I want something that can do fresh or saltwater, so, the Penn travel combo seems like a good value, and it comes with an extra spool.
But then, I also think that I have a cheap D-Shock reel already that is serving me well, and don't need to upgrade that yet, since work has taken me to a place where only freshwater fishing is available. Falcon rods just feel so nice and light when I've tried them at the store.
I'm trying to prioritize durability and weight.
Any thoughts? Any other recommendations?

One more question: will the Penn travel combo be uncomfortable for finesse bass fishing? Because that is mostly what I’m enjoying right now, and I don’t want to buy something that makes it less enjoyable.
