    Females can be just as pretty as males, especially plakats with shorter fins 💕

    This is Azula. She is supreme overlord of her 10 gallon. I had 4 huge amano shrimp (bigger than her!) in with her and she killed them. Even the snails aren’t safe, she flares at them and even ate a baby ramshorn! Fortunately she has been unable to harm my trapdoor snails despite her best efforts. None of the pest snails in that tank breed… She does come and lay in my hand though🥰

    I haven’t seen any stores selling female betta in my neighborhood fish store.
    Any idea where we can get them in Bangalore?

    Do yours ever get the zoomies and act like little puppies? Mine does laps when she sees the food container

    Can you see the Egg white spot under her belly ? Thats when you know she is loaded. It will be natural if she through away the eggs like a poop.

    My worry and main reason i got a plakat male not a female is, that i read they can become egg-bound and die? Is this common?

    What fish can i put with my female betas.ive heard shrimp are ok but not sure 🤔

    Maybe it’s because they don’t want to become an uncle if the betta gets pregnant and gives birth 😂

    Yes! My little lady is turning 1 next month. She’s like a puppy. She loves to watch videos on my phone and bite my finger.

    We have a real beauty of a female betta with a short tail, and she seems so much happier than the long tailed male we had before her.

    I want to have a female betta tank so bad! I’ve just recently got this absolutely gorgeous giant male betta, and I’m so keen to get a giant female or a couple if their temperament is okay with being together!

    My boy Hecuba was sweet and lived in Harmony with snails, shrimp, otos and pigmy cories.
    My girl Maven (The Telum) is a murder machine!
    She’ll only eat live, killed off the shrimp, and watches the assassin snails do their thing.
    She doesn’t really get angry at me, but idk if she’s just chill with me or thinks I’m that far beneath her. 😅

    My females that I’ve had over the years have been my favorites. I had a lovely sorority once. A tornado hit us and I lost them…but I truly loved them. I had them trained to lightly jump out of the water and take a food pellet out of my fingers. They would all take turns according to rank. I loved their personalities.

    She is gorgeous!!! Im new to the hobby and doing a lot pf research to do this right! Im seriously considering a female Betta! I think I care more about color than actual fin size!
