Pretty epic day. Met a guy at the parking lot who had been fishing the Juan for 40+ years, took me to one of his favorite spots and helped me out a lot. I caught 8-9 big rainbows/cutbows, even a couple on the San Juan Worm cuz why not. Amazing fishery, super picky fish, totally worth the hype.

Nice. It’s always fun there. What size was that fly?
The Juan is a challenge…..small perfect fly, technical drift, depth has to be spot on. Those fish can be glued to a spot and don’t move for flys often.if you caught fish and didn’t loose a spool of tippet and a dozen flies, it’s a win
