I've always loved how neon tetras seem to glow when the light catches them. That little flash of blue and red is what inspired this tiny watercolor.
I tried to keep it simple and let the shimmering pigments do the work, almost like the colors you see when the fish suddenly turns in the water.
I'm already thinking about what to paint next, so I'm curious—what's your favorite fish in your tank? I'd love to discover some species I've never seen before.

My neurons activated when I saw this. I’ve used metallic watercolors like this, but I didn’t think about painting fish! I love what you did here. As for my favorite fish, I recently got a male blue kribensis and he looks really cool.
oh my god it looks so so good
These are really beautiful and so nicely done. Thanks for sharing OP! 🩵
I’d love to see mandarin goby in these shimmery colours. Perhaps a little red cherry shrimp, that would be adorable!

golden wonder killifish would look great like this, the green on the makes really lends itself to the metallic colors
very pretty
I like slide 3 – the pink one
these are so pretty, might I suggest a sparkling gourami and/or scarlet badis
Wow! Do you sell these?
