Curious to hear others solutions. And get some advice. I’m sorta panicking lol.

I’d probably tape a trash bag or a few to the top and leave it for a day or two afterwards. No actual experience tho

some sort of tight seal on everything that could possibly let the air touch the water. like perhaps plastic wrap used for food

Tape a garbage bag around it as air tight as you can, turn any air flow off (bubbler, sponge filter ect) at the last possible moment and make it the first thing you turn back on after a quick wipe down of the general area. I’d also bag up nets and everything that could go into the water eventually, or a good cleaning of everything afterward. Seen quite a few posts about people touching something that was exposed to chemicals and then putting their hands or it into the tank without remembering

If you can, the best thing to do is to move the entire tank somewhere safe until the fumigation is over. Reduce the water as much as possible, bag the fish, and just move and fill it back up once it’s safe in another location. Reverse on the way back. If you can’t do that, unplug all your equipment and wrap the tank in thick plastic wrap and duct tape, making sure it’s as air tight as physically possible. Make sure your filter media stays wet, as the bacteria will die if it dries out. Make sure the room is completely aired out before you take the wrapping off. I’ve had to do a lot of research on this as we may also get fumigated soon. Good luck!

  5. If you can’t move it your best bet is to put the filter into the tank and seal the whole tank. My only worry is there won’t be fresh oxygen going into the water but I think the fish can make it 6 hours.

  6. You need a positive air flow set up. Fresh air blown in from outside to inside around your tank.

You need to connect a dryer hose to some fan, Like this.. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R7TQH3M?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R7TQH3M?th=1)

Run the hose/fan outside through a window. Connect the blowing end to tank an air-tight bag around your tank.

Tape everything together. Lots of tape.

The fresh air will blow in and keep them safe. All pumps and filters off.

A few bags of activated carbon tossed in tank wouldn’t hurt.

  7. Drop the filter into the tank completely. And wrap it tightly in saran wrap right before they fumigate.
