If this tank were yours, how would you aquascape and stock it??
I love shallow tanks and this has been my dream size for a while. Finally got it! However there are so many possibilities, I can't decide which direction to go to! Or perhaps I haven't even thought about all the cool stuff I could do.
My initial thought: keep it uncovered and make an indoor pond-like aquascape with a waterfall either on the right corner or central.
I already have a tank right next to it with similar measurements for south-american micro-species.

Rivers scape lots of wood sticking up banking from one side to the other, lots of Corydoras and hillstream loaches. ♥️
Oooh that is such a gorgeous tank! Very jealous! Why don’t you make this one an Asian themed tank to go beside your South American one? Gouramis, rasboras etc could look amazing 🙂
I would make an Island with epiphites/emersed plants reaching high above the tank
Massive wood pieces that stick out of the top, rocks for nooks and crannies, sand substrate, heavily planted, stock with a large school of least rasboras, assorted pangio species, and a centerpiece female honey gourami.
fast flowing river scape, the filter flowing from the side. Mainly smooth rocks, and vallisnaria that gets pushed by the current. Stocked with a school of mountain minnows and hillstream loaches that would feed from the algae on the rocks.
I would have the main attractions in the centre, almost like an island, so much potential with these sizes, keep us posted.

I also vote for mountain minnows and hillstream loaches, beautiful easy fish and no heater required.
I see corys, apistogramma borelli, sand, wood with epiphytes and anubias hastifolia that grows out of the water. And some leafs on the ground for tannins.

Yeah I wouldn’t be able to decide between the fast flowing river stream option with heaps of smooth rocks, with hillstream loaches and fast swimming danios or white cloud mountain minnows, OR the opposite, a still pond setup with heaps of emersed growth and chill fish like medaka or fancy guppies eetc.Have fun, it’ll be amazing either way.
