This is my first ever big fish caught. This year i decided to try spinning as i only fished with live worms as a kid. Bought a savage gear spinner and on the very first throw got this monster.
I wonder. Is this a wild trout or a hatvhery escapee? Caught like 100m close to the hatchery. The hatchery ones are much darker tho, either this escaped very young or its a wild trout.
I didnt weight it but i think it was around 1kg.
The reason i suspect hatchery its because of its big size and the coloring being on the darker side

Does it matter?
If you fish close to a hatchery, make sure you read the local rules for fishing near hatcheries, in some places it is illegal to fish within a certain distance from a hatchery.
The beat up fins lead me to believe it’s a stocked trout.
The coloring is how stocked one looks and the behavior of going after a spinner first cast adds up. Anytime I catch a rainbow on a spinner it’s stocked and bites at the first cast right away. More of a startled bite reaction not a follow and bite.
