Throwing a hag's prickly pear with a nail weight in it on a wacky hook has caught me more bass this month than I have in some past years. Usually around 1 to 2lbs. I've never been a great fisherman but I've been at it on and off for 10 years. Well this year I've been all gas no breaks on it and really focusing on improving as an angler and it finally paid off.

Fishing is like most things in life, you can fantasize about it, browse the internet about it, whatever…but the best thing to become a good fisherman is fishing a lot. When you got the bug, fish all you can. The experience alone is worth it for the future.
