Tied a palomar knot and a 4/0 EWG hook, 40 lb flourocaron and added a bead and 1/4 weight.

yes
You could probably go down to 17 lb fluoro. Unless you have some special Lake in the butthole of Florida that’s only got 18 lb bass I don’t think you’re going to need 40 lb fluoro
40lb line is way heavy
What is the purpose of the little bead ?
I catch 5 lb bass on straight 12 lb flouro or 10 lb braid to a 8 lb flouro leader all the time. 40 is a bit much.
Aside from that, everything else looks chill.
Clear water that isn’t getting bit. Not with 40lb line and the bead. I’d go to 18/22lb 40lb is crazy.
