I thought I bought a 30 gallon tank off of fb marketplace, comes out it was 20 gallon.
I added a marineland biowheel 200(rates for a 50 gallon tank) and cycled it and everything went good, I gradually added the following livestock before I knew it was 20 gallon:
6 neon tetras
6 kuhli loaches(really small)
2 rabbit snails
a 3 inch bristle-nose + a 2 inch snowball (plecos)
the centerpiece which is my betta.
Now I’m thinking I have overloaded it and I’m returning some of my mystery snails(yup I didn’t mention) back.
Should I relocate the plecos too?
Or any other tips

I wouldnt quite say overcrowded but terrible stocking choices.
I personally wouldnt keep Neons under 118 gallons. As these small groups do nothing for them and they love swimming. I dont think anybody would say the same but i wouldnt keep fish anymore in under 50 gallons. Yes they can survive but you should want them to thrive and not just get by. (Ofc there are exceptions)
The Plecos can get huge for a 20 gal so 50 gals should be the minimum for them too.
Kuhli loaches i dont know much about so would have to read into them.
And now to the best part, never ever put a Betta to other fish, its just stress for them and males should always be alone.
Also you should look more into the regions they come from and look into their natural habitat. Because you have a few different countries and absolutely different habitats in the group.
Would be a perfect tank for your Betta, but alone, maybe the snails and thats it.
Btw nothing is meant maliciously and its just my personal thinking and experience.
