So…this is my new 20 gallon tank. Its been cycling for a few weeks now. Currently, I have two nerite snails and everything seems to be going well so far. Hoping to add more plants and a some fish this weekend, I'm very excited!
Anyway, I was doing a water test today when I spotted a bunch of these baby snails?
I know they can't possibly be nerite babies as this is a freshwater tank, so what are they? I was not expecting them and am not sure if I need to remove them or not. I spotted at least 5 of them but there could be more because they're so small right now.
I also have no idea where they came from. This is the first I'm seeing these little guys, and also my first ever tank, I'm so confused lol

I can’t tell if they’re bladder snails or pond snails.
Regardless they’re notorious hitchhikers on aquatic plants. From what I’ve read most people don’t buy them they just kinda start popping up.

Most likely bladder snails. Harmless but they multiply unbelievably quickly.
Just bladder snails! I love my guys honestly. They’ll have a population boom but should settle down if you don’t overfeed the tank
Pest snails…
They will multiply exponentially no matter how little you feed. That’s because they consume algae, biofilm, plant matter and detrious as well as any food that might be left uneaten.

Bladder snails! Love them, wouldn’t do a tank without them. Helps that they’re gorgeous as well as useful.
