Got a cheap aquarium mounted camera and stuck a treat on the glass in front of it. Loving it so far but the quality is pretty bad.

Needed something quick and cheap- was going out of town for a couple days and monitoring a sick fish.

Anyone have recommendations for a good mounted camera?

I have looked into it a lot, doesn’t seem like many great options that auto focus. I think I have the same one. I like it a lot but agree the quality leaves a lot to be desired

  2. I don’t see a quality issue. I see an issue with putting the treats to close to the camera where it can not focus that close.

If you are into tinkering, open it up and adjust the focus manually. I did that on a cheap window mount camera from China, but it lost wifi every other day so I tossed it 😛

Later I just taped an android phone with case to the tank and boom, better quality for free

I would love to get an aquarium specific camera. I used to use my Go Pro. You can live stream it to your PC as well with some work and the app. Super painful and not practical.

Would prefer a camera like this that has its own app and stuff and can stay in the tank long term
