Researched my thumbs off trying to prepare for a Fishing Voyage down the Mighty AuSable River in Mi (World Class River)
Came down to buying an $800 kayak (catch) OR modding my 1st & Only Kayak I’ve ever owned. Lifetime Tamarack.
I’m Planning on putting on Grid Lock Rails with T-Lock Attachments and also throwing my 30L dry bag in between my double capacity milk crate and seat.
I bought the stadium seat from ozark trail and found that it got my center of gravity WAY too high on the float. I’ll be fighting trout and pike so I’m not trying to test my lone survivalist dry bags efficacy yet by any means.
Any way, Reddit has surprisingly been the most help besides YouTube videos and general searches on browser. So I decided to make an account and contribute my progress
Thank you everyone who sees this
Hope it helps. I’ll continue to post progress if you guys are interested.
Might do a custom mod where I mount a Plano box directly on the kayak as well as a few other things I haven’t mentioned yet.

Looks good! Hope you have a great time on your trip!
Looks similar to my Tamarack I use for river stuff. I have not tried the stadium seat so I just plan and assume me and my ass will be wet. I bring clothes to change into at camp and dry the wet. I used marine rivets to add padeyes for lashing points all over. Most of my trips are multiple days so I have multiple dry bags of gear and food.
