Saw some smallmouth in there and also a bunch of baby largemouth. How should I fish this?

  1. The first few times I fish somewhere new to me I throw a green or black/blue senko. They’re just the ol reliable fish finder. And I try new things from that point.

Skip a senco or Ned rig or jig up under those overhanging trees and bushes. You’ll find them there

Definitely getting a buzz bait or whopper plopper under those low hanging trees, and probably a weightless fluke as well

Swim jig, lipless, crankbait to cover water and find if/where they are biting and then use something with more finesse once you find the area out where they are. Or like was already mentioned to find shade and structure and flip a soft plastic over their head

  5. It’s so open there just go with what your most comfy with and move on from that. For me it’s an inline like roaster tail or Panther Martin. But to each their own!

I would throw a hellgrammite or a craw on a lightweight jig head or Ned rig, 1/15-1/8 oz. Let it drift in the water until it hits bottom then hop it and crawl it across the bottom.
