I just added 6 black neon tetras and 6 long finned zebra danios. The tank is fully cycled and ready for these fishes. I am still confused about what temp to keep the tank at but I have it on 74 right now. Plants wise I have 1 huge anubias nana, 2 mid sized java fern, and tons of baby windelov java fern. Let me know guy what I am doing right or wrong?

I’d consider something that grows a little taller or faster for the back of the tank to give them more cover. Maybe something like a sword or two or some jungle Val. Since danios prefer slightly cooler water than black neons 72-74 is the temperatures you want. But beyond that it looks like a good start. Looks like most of what you need is time for the plants to grow in.

I am in between black and green neon tetras right now and wow… I like how your substrate accents them.

Good question… I’d do 74 too but maybe someone who keeps both can help.

  3. You are off to a good start. Add some taller plants to make the fish more comfortable. Maybe an Amazon sword on the right, and some Rotala stem cuttings in the back center to left.
