My partner and I have a very unreliable sleeping schedule and we love to have the tv or our pc’s on well past when we should… so I’ve had to make a “Bed-Time Cover” for our betta’s tank so he can actually sleep. This fish has a better daily routine than I do!

I’m thinking of painting it eventually. What do you think? 🙂

I think that’s really sweet. Like blackout curtains for a baby only the baby is a betta! I’ve had some bettas who would have really benefited from something like this. Painting it to look like his aquarium with him tucked in bed would be adorable.

  2. This is awesome. I bet your betta gets super excited in the mornings when you take it off.

My betta always runs right up to the glass as soon as I walk in the room in the morning. I work 24 hour shifts so she doesn’t get to see me all day when I’m at work. Luckily I have her light on a timer that gradually brightens in the morning and dims at night to simulate sunrise and sunset. They are such smart little fish. I considered getting a school of rasboras instead but there’s nothing like the personality of a betta

  3. No I just turn the lights off in the room. I read they need like 12 hours of darkness or something like that, so I have the grow light on for 6 hours for plants. And then keep everything else off. It’s summer right now so my room stays dark unless I’m cleaning to keep things cool.

No. But I do start a bedtime routine. A few hours before bed the lights begin to dim until they completely shut off. That’s my routine.
