I go fishing once a year up in Northern Ontario. We have been coming to this lake for close to 25 years. We are not master anglers by any means. My dad has been using the same equipment all this time and usually I end up tangling myself up. He likes to use a Lucky Strike wire and willow lure with a worm and we do usually catch fish it’s just mostly rock bass. If we are lucky the occasional small mouth may come by.

The water is relatively clear and the weather has been fairly cool with some rainy days. We usually fish near rocky outcroppings close to the shore.

This year I wanted to try and see if I can catch anything a little bigger. I’m wondering what kind of lures, techniques, and areas of the lake we should try out. I’m willing to head to the bait shop up here and pick up something new if it’ll help.
