I’ve built this 6 gallon (23 litre) tank for over a week. Here are some things that I’ve done
– a lot of plants are anchored to the back wall using plastic suckers that came with the plants
– biological based substrate on the bottom, with some dying hair grass
– hard scape includes pot, driftwood (getting larger one), leaves that give off tannins (but sure specific species of leaf), stones, and shells
– hanging filter with intake filter that I’ve put a mesh around and air pump
– clean pond water so I’ve seen quite a lot of microorganisms and a lot of bacteria
– 2 pregnant shrimp and one non-pregnant (idk male or female) shrimp and 11 snails
Problems: Circulation seems to be an issue. The air pump is really strong, and creates a high upswell of water that I have trouble controlling

Just add a regulator valve to the air pump or remove it if you use an hob filter. Betta will love this tank
Have you tested your parameters?
Yup!

Tanks looking good but that pot with the hole in the bottom is a risk for someone getting stuck
I second the comment about the pot with the hole, although it looks really cool. Maybe you could put a plant in that spot to fill it so your fish doesn’t get caught.
The other recommendation I would make is that I see you have one of the little betta hammocks, the leaf attached to a suction cup. Personally I would move that up closer to the surface so that your betta can rest on it near the waterline. As Labyrinth fish, bettas actually breathe air, which is why they go up to the surface. Long-finned bettas especially love resting places near the surface so that they can relax and get a little support for their heavy fins but still not be far from the surface.
Otherwise, your tank is beautiful. Any betta you get will love this, I’m sure.
