  1. Will never beat some dudes farm raised blue gill that he’s been feeding for 10 years 😂😂

  2. It sounds like you want a replica. Get a replica! Who cares what the other internet fishermen think.

  3. It’s a Redear not a Bluegill. Redear get significantly larger than bluegill.

But replica/mounts are by your discretion! If you think a fish is worthy of a wall mount, whether its size or the memory holds, go for it! I’d suggest, don’t spend money on a wall mount just because someone on the internet says yes or no.

Anything 10” or bigger is considered a trophy bluegill in Texas. So I think it’s big enough to justify a replica.

  5. If I ever get a 10″ Bluegill that might be what I get mounted. However, yours is a Redear Sunfish. A nice one, but they get just a little bit bigger than Bluegills. Maybe 11″ is big enough for redear idk. That’s a personal distinction. Do it if you want it and have the funds.

For future reference, if your catch is trophy worthy, it might hard to do but it may be best to take a few really good photos including length of the fish and release it.

Companies like [New Wave Taxidermy](https://newwavetaxidermy.com) and [American Fish Taxidermy](https://americanfishtaxidermy.com/painted-your-photo) specialize in recreating your trophy catch from images, allowing your trophy fish to live another year and continue spreading its giant genes to future generations.
