i have a beautiful mustard gas halfmoon betta named piña colada (picture below) and his tank has been fully cycled and running for a little over a month and a half and its been a breeze to work with as a new fish keeper, but today it seems a major issue with bacterial bloom or algae bloom has started and the water smells a little bad, there were nitrites when i tested with my liquid test kit so i did a 50% water change and then BOOM it looks like i poured milk in the tank and my ph is now at a 6.4 with less than .25 ppm of nitrite which i know is very bad so i will do more water changes after 12-24 hours. im not sure what to do. i am planning to buy some clarity, stability and ph up in the morning when the pet store opens just in case i need them. he is housed with bladder snails, one dwarf cone snail, two amano shrimp, and two ghost shrimp.
there are more plants in the tank than what the picture shows, it is just THAT cloudy. it’s a 6gal cube.

One thing I would not do is add a bunch of stuff to chase parameters. Maybe 1 thing but too many changes can do more harm than good for your fish.
How long is the light on everyday? Is there a filter? Did you use ferts? What size is the tank and what kind of water did you use for the water change?
