It's been a cooler than normal August, so I did an exploratory trip up the shore to see if any pinks were staging yet. No pinks, but ran into some lake trout action in about 30 feet of water

For someone who lives in the north shore area, what do you use normally to get em from shore? I’ve never tried because I just figured I wouldn’t be able to get out far enough.
