Has anyone given up on roof rack transporting? I want to get a trailer, but that also required registering, getting a receiver, wiring… is it worth saving the little bit of life I have in my back.
Also, I have added about 45 dents to the car because apparently cardboard and moving blankets doesn’t help.

A trailer is way easier.
If you didn’t want to go the trailer route, you could get a load assist tool that auctions to the rear window like this one

Makes loading much easier
I load mine onto my jeep of a monster truck. I’ve got a 6 in lift on 37s. It’s a freaking workout and I’ve considered a trailer.
Nope, cause it would defeat the entire purpose of a kayak to use a trailer.
If I want to use a trailer I have a bit that’s significantly more comfortable, faster and easier to use than my kayak
