I currently have an slx xt but i want to treat myself to a nice reel but the curado and slx dc are too mainstream so i was going to switch to a exsence dc ss. I don't like the big handle knobs on the exsence and i was wondering if i could buy the same knobs from my slx xt and switch them onto the exsence. i also just wanted to know what you guys think about the exsence dc ss and how different it is from the slx xt. Anything you know about either reel is useful.

The SLX XT knobs should fit right on, same shaft size. I swapped a set onto a Curado once with no issues. Exsence is smoother and lighter but the DC braking is what you’ll notice. SLX XT is more of a workhorse, Exsence feels like a toy (in a good way). Whether that’s worth the jump is up to you. If you’re just chasing a DC reel the Curado DC is the smarter buy though. Same guts, half the price.
