🍀 The Beautiful Window Aquarium by 原生溪鱼 ((小红书)

What makes this aquarium so special?

It measures 150 cm long, 60 cm wide and just 20 cm high, with a volume of around 160 litres. It sits directly in front of a large window, so it receives plenty of natural daylight.

There is no artificial lighting, no filter, no pumps and no CO₂ system. The water is never changed either—only the water lost through evaporation is topped up.

The aquatic plants are what keep the aquarium stable and provide the system with oxygen. Together, they create a balanced and natural ecosystem. The fish and their food add a steady supply of nutrients, helping to keep the whole system running naturally.

  1. Being next to that window brings an insane amount of light on a shallow tank with high surface area. Yes it doesnt need CO2 or a filter but its also an extremely expensive tank with lighting that would be very expensive to reproduce without a big window
