My betta's sick. He was more death then alive the past days and now he's being all busy and swimming around, what should i do?
My betta was the past days calm, he was only resting on top of a plant near the surface and wasn't swimmig – the few moment he swem, it was with difficulty and he had trouble getting to the surface again.
I had the idea to put him to sleep seeing as he's in a far stadium as my research tells me – but now he's swimming around and being busy. Swimming's still going with trouble and he's going to the surface a lot, but at least he's busy and not laying partly dead on a leaf.
So what should i do? Should i wait with putting him to sleep or is this his last active moment before he's gone?

Do you normally feed him that much?
Is this his normal appearance? As far as size?
What is your feeding schedule and how much/what do you feed?
I’m new to this, but he definitely looks overweight. You should be feeding only 3-4 pellets at most twice a day.
Check for ammonia and nitrite and nitrate in the tank. If it’s too high, you need to do 50% water changes everyday.
Put him in a clean container with *new* water (only if the aquarium water peramiters are unsafe). If the water is safe, use some of it in the container but make sure it is shallow so he doesn’t have as far to swim to breathe.
I would see if it is his swim bladder causing issues, or his fins.
He’s bloated. Consider feeding him a little bit of cooked green peas. It will help him. And overall feed him less. Most fish don’t really feel when they’re full so they keep eating.
You are hugely over feeding this fish.
Hey friend, you already have good advice. I just wanted to explain the overfeeding since it’s very common. I know these fish act like they are starving all the time.
Look at the size of your Betta’s eyeball — that’s about the size of his stomach too! Those food pellets in your picture are also dry, so they will expand with water.
Imagine those 10 or so food pellets from your photo, all soaked in water and expanded, stuffed into a stomach the size of the Betta’s eyeball. Ouch!
He looks past the point of no return. Keep him as clean, comfortable, and warm (around 80°F) as possible, and spend some last loving moments with him. He probably has 72 hours max from my past experience. Up to you if you decide to euthanize or wait it out. I am so sorry 💔 He’ll have my late Sashmi and Alucard waiting to help him get to fishy heaven when it’s time 🌈🌫🐠👼
