Hello,I’m beyond new to fishing and I bought this rod for myself but I’m having major issues with it constantly! It’s almost always the spin reel? It came with it all and all I had to do was the fishing line and set it up but the reel already had the string! I stretched it and everything,but the nearest fishing store is about 40-60 minutes away from me and other people around me can’t seem to get it either? Even my partner who I fish with(who helped me set everything up because they set their own rod up and everything). I’m just beyond frustrated and to be honest want to just throw the rod away even if I payed a decent amount for it because this keeps on happening. Please help

Bro, keep that set up, but go out and get a nice Zebco rod and reel. Then as you get comfortable in the hobby, start using the spinning reel.
The line that comes stock with these combos is god awful. I would trash the line and respool. If you absolutely have to make this line work after you cast make sure you hold the line while you begin retrieving so that the line goes onto the spool with tension.
Let all the line out and reel it back in with tension on the line. I would also recommend switching to braided line. They sell it at Walmart.
Ehh, it happens to be honest. I still get tangles every so often. You’ll get better.
You’ll always, always, want to have tension on the line whenever you start to reel (making sure you have the correct lure and line weight is important for this) and also, close the bail by hand instead of letting it close by itself.
Nice to see you’re getting into the sport!! Careful though, the slope can be slippery 😂
It seems you’re getting loose wraps. Monofilament fishing line is prone to this, especially on a new setup. Also, line that comes on combo setups tends to be exceedingly budget level and quite stiff. This exacerbates loose wrap issues.
It’s important to not let the line go loose when you’re reeling in. Try to keep a little pressure on it so the line lays tight to the spool and doesn’t flop around and cause these wraps.

If you’re a newer angler I would assume you’re going for smaller fish. That line is low quality and way thicker than you need. Take all the old line off and replace it with 8lb braid instead
you might have too much line in the reel. is that mono or floro? line memory could be an issue. did you spool the line yourself? it could have line twist from when it was spooled. also what kind of lure are you using? some lures can cause line twist
tighten drag, flip switch so your anti-reverse is on.

I know exactly what is happening here. It’s a user error, although it also happens to experienced anglers. They’re called wind knots. When you’re reeling in slack line it forms these tangling loops. Any kind of tension on the line helps prevent it. Even surface tension from the water. Just make sure whenever you’re reeling in you’re keeping tension on that line!
Alright this could be a number of things some that you are doing some that you aren’t doing. First it could be the line is twisted or just bad line memory issue. If that’s the case some people are gonna tell you to soak it in boiling hot water for x amount of time with different add ons to the method. It can work but honestly it isn’t ever something I have been impressed with. I have found the best success in just taking all the line off and putting a new line on. I like braid that my favorite thing. Another thing it could be is not having enough weight on the rod when you cast. If your throwing a 1/32 jig head on a rod that’s spoiled with 12 pound cheap mono it’s gonna mess up. That’s probably not your problem but it could be. Another is the technique your specifically employing is messing something up. Not hating on you but you did say your brand new to fishing wich tells me there is a chance your doing a silly thing like holding the rod backwards when casting. Open face like what you have should be facing away from you when casting not towards you. I’m sure that seems obvious to some but I have seen it dozens of times from new anglers so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what’s happening here. Finally the reel could just be screwed up. It does happen I have seen messed up rods and reels being sold and had to warn sales reps becuase I don’t want a newbie to get a bad reel or rod and think oh no this hobby is impossible and sucks when in reality they just aren’t using serviceable equipment.
What do you mean you “stretched it”?
Personally I’d remove that line and replace it with 6-8lb mono or floro. Don’t go braid yet as you probably aren’t a knot professional for leaders yet
