Sorry for another stonefly post, but I'm trying out articulated tails as I've ran out of the #10 hooks I usually use. Has anyone noticed an difference between articulated nymphs and regular ones? I've attached a picture of the OG golden stone and a fish it has caught.

That’s the final boss of flies right there. Beautiful fish!
Dream fly
Thats too beautiful to fish
I would be too in love with it to fish. Beautiful!
Crazy how such a small hook can catch such a big fish.
I fished with Dally once a while back and he was fucking with an articulated girdle. He called it the “loose stool”. Definitely didn’t look as sweet as that one. Sick fly!!
I didn’t even know that was a thing but it’s cool!

Never be sorry for posting bro. Love your stuff. Looking forward to seeing what you do with that small vinyl rib we talked about
I’d hook this fly on a log on my first cast 🤣
I do a lot of work with aquatic insects and I’ve noticed that when live stoneflies are drifting, they tend to spread out their legs and stiffen up rather than do a swimming motion.
I’m sure articulated will work and those look awesome, but not sure if it’s worth the extra time to tie them.
