  1. I don’t know about these particular frames, but I can tell you pink lenses are great for the river

I’m gonna to tell you the truth. These are best frames and lenses on the market for river fishing. I bought 2 and eventually lost both and I can’t stomach buying again but after seeing this post I might.

  3. Love mine, they’re great for cloudy days and low light. Full sun, not so much. Plastic lenses too.

They’re on sale at Eyedictive right now for around 80 bucks too

I got the Smith Rip tides because I don’t like big frames that block my peripheral vision, although some people like it for blocking the sun obviously. I highly recommend getting the lenses that are Glass chromapop as the don’t scratch easily

  5. I was given these glasses for my birthday one year by my wife.

I opened them up and looked at the frames and said “ain’t nobody getting laid in these”.

I called them my birth control glasses because they’re ugly as a MF, but damned if they aren’t the best glasses I own.

  6. Have them in glass and photochromic amber/d brown and they’re the best fishing glasses in the quiver

  7. They’re really good *if* they fit your face/head. I have high cheekbones and these sunglasses touch my face and pick up oil/sunscreen which I find annoying.

I have 4 pair. The yellow low light igniters are my go to for the river until around mid-morning. Then I switch to the glass polarchromic brown green mirror. Those are my preferred for contrast in any setting. Granted I’ve never used the pink lenses. If you get their glass lenses you won’t be disappointed.

  9. Best glasses I have ever had (I’ve had 15+ pairs of “polarized”). I have the Rose, and Yellow lenes. From my cold dead hands….

  10. I have the chroma pop glass green mirror lenses.

They work great, but for the price? I’d rather buy Maui Jims. I’ve had 3 pairs of Smiths and have always had frame issues. MJs are just made better.

  11. I have six pairs of these. best fishing glasses for wading, floating, inshore salt and offshore salt. have the yellow ignitor lenses and they are the best outside full sun while floating.

  12. Love my guides choice I have the photochromic pair. Great in all conditions, saltwater , rivers lakes, hiking, ski touring, daily wear.

Been wearing these for years. Probably most versatile lens they make. At least before brown / green and blue / rose came out. These are my go-to lenses for Texas flats fishing

  14. Those lenses are amazing. They are like x-ray vision. I had that exact pair. Mine are at the bottom of a lake now. I wish they had that lense in more frames. The only reason I didn’t buy another pair was that the guides choice frame was a little big for me and they would slide down my nose just enough to be annoying and I would be pushing it back all day. I would wear them in all conditions for sight fishing. If it is blaring sun and you are on open water deep sea fishing, yeah, maybe a set of mirrored darker frames would be better. But for sight fishing, best I have ever used. I used to manage a fly shop and have tried just about every high quality lense from all the top companies and this one has always been my favorite.

I looked at these but went with the Costa fly line with silver copper mirror lenses. The Costa are excellent on the water
