20 gallon long (I think 30 inches long and 12in wide).
In my early stages of building my aquarium (placement of stuff isn’t permanent in case I need to make room for the heater and sponge filter). Soil is 4cm deep and from what I can tell the sand layer is also 4 cm. Would future plants be able to get through the sand easily?

Also my landscaping definitely isnt the best but you know what I kind of like the uneven surface 😅

You’re good! Overtime, it’ll create a great home for bacteria and it’ll do a good job keeping your nutrients in the substrate. Perfect for planting and little clean ups etc.

I believe the substrate is shallow in the forefront…….gradually increasing in depth towards the rear of Aquarium…..where it will be Deepest!
