I was just wondering if this set up would work, and how effective it might be. Currently have it rigged up on my 5'6" Medium Light. The slip bobber is rigged to my main line(8 lb mono) and the swivel connects to a 12" 4 lb mono leader. I was planning to use it for panfish, as i plan to take a friend fishing and was looking for an alternative to my ultralight rod. I plan to use split shot as well, has anyone has done something similar?

What are you fishing for? I hate adding more terminal tackle than needed and definitely don’t need the swivel. Unless you’re finishing some finicky fish, I would just tie direct and skip the leader.
