i know she’s a koi betta and theyre bound to change color throughout their life, but is it just that or is it also a sign of her being in good health/happy? or both?

  1. Happy and healthy. Bettas are always muted when stressed, so their colors coming in shows that they’re comfortable with their surroundings

My female beta turned from pale whiteish to shiny purple after a few weeks in her 10 gallon tank. It was amazing how some good food and water heals them right up from those awful cups. My boy is still a work in progress… he’s in a 20 gallon but super shy took 4 weeks to fully leave the plants and start exploring. His color is perking up a little slower but he’s getting there.

Koi bettas have marbling dna so they can change colour depending on the care they are receiving!! In your case it looks like your betta changed colour bc she is happy!
