So I MAY be in the wrong here but its actually best not to replace those or even clean then unless just a very quick rinse do to beneficial bacteria that has started living in the filter.
So yes just stick it back in and if u must clean it use a bowl of water that u can simple pour back into the tank when u do water changes/top offs

Whenever I do a water change, I just swish it around in the old water to get out any excessive debris, then put it back in. I’ve never changed it.
But, these types of filters overall aren’t super ideal. I only have this in one of my tanks. It’s much better to switch to your own filter media system especially if you’re paranoid about checking on the filter anyway.

Do not throw it away, reuse it.

Yes, but don’t expect them to last forever. These are made to be replaced consistently, so they are nowhere near durable. I would replace it with filter wool. There are also PLENTY of videos on YouTube with suggestions on what to use instead of cartridges.

You can rinse it in old tank water to “clean” it and reuse yes. However, it’s best to not use them at all and to replace them with aquaclear sponges instead. They do more filtering and last longer.
