rod: Shakespeare excursion 7' m

reel: Shimano fx 4000

line: ?????

I have

Berkeley big game 10lb .30mm – clear

Strength high impact 10lb .30mm -low viz green

  1. I would use the Berkley Big Game. Great line. Stren stretches to much for me and I hate flouro on a spinning reel. Never heard of situation so I don’t know.

With soft plastics, I’d imagine fluorocarbon would be the best as mono has some stretch in it which can make twitchy actions a bit mushier & fluoro is marginally harder to see underwater, which is important for walleye who are notoriously shy.

Could easily run any of the above and not have a huge problem, but I’d say fluorocarbon may be a good bet. Just try to remove some of the memory before you spool it, or it’ll be an absolute mess.
