Betta Fish: Persistent stress stripes after 3 weeks on female betta
I’ve had her about 3 weeks, why haven’t her stress stripes gone away? 10 gallon tank, ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates around 20ppm, temperature 79-80 degrees F. She eats normally (quite a lot in fact)
I bought her at the local PetCo.

10gal is pretty small for her to be in with those tetras, which is probably the issue. She most likely would appreciate her own tank. Tetras can chase and be nippy on big-finned fish.

The other fish are stressing her out, I’d move her to her own tank.

I hate to be an eco chamber, but I think the tank might be a little overstocked and overwhelming for her. I have a shortfin in a 10gal tank with one nerite snail and he is so happy. He loves his plants and caves, but he loves the open spaces too. Your tank is beautiful, but I think she might be less stressed in a calmer environment.
Good luck! 🩷
