Found these at my parents place. Gonna use them for catfishing using cut bait. How long should the two leaders be attached to those twisted metal parts?

2-3 inches would be fine. But these style rigs are notorious for tangling in moving water (surf, river, etc) as short as possible so they still can be effective otherwise they will tangle around each other in any current

The shorter the better. If you go long they will tangle together when you cast
