Noopy has been swimming in his new home for about 3-4 days now, but I can’t help but feel he is getting pushed around by the water.
I have a 5gallon tank with a Top Fin PF10 Silentstream Power Filter, I have turned it to the lowest it can go & brought a sponge so he doesn’t get sucked in by the filter, I will add a video if someone wants it but I just want to bring him a more peaceful environment.
Someone recommend a piece of plastic straw tapped completely with electrical wire to break some of the water, is that my only viable option?

I have 2 hob filters on my 75 gallon. I made a diy baffle using sponge that I cut to size where the outflow is. It really helps calm the water flow. An added bonus is its an extra area for good bacteria to grow!
I had one of those before it shit itself on me. I cut the top and bottom off of a plastic water bottle and then cut a line through it. It was one curved piece of plastic instead of a connected circle. I tucked one end into the filter itself and then let the other curl under the stream of water. Look up fish tank filter baffles and you’ll get plenty of results.

his colors are so cute!! a sponge air filter is best for bettas. maybe stick a sponge or leaf* on the outlet part to soften the flow?

I cut a piece of a sponge and put it in, the flow of water was significantly gone down!
Where’s the rock hide from? I like it!
I recommend the slim marina filter(i think that’s the name). I’ve had mine for a couple years and it works AMAZINGLY!!
